Terms of use & privacy
Version 2
Terms of use
1. What this site is
SC Log Viewer is an unofficial, free fan tool that turns Star Citizen log files into statistics. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cloud Imperium Games, Roberts Space Industries or any of their companies. Star Citizen®, Squadron 42®, Roberts Space Industries® and Cloud Imperium® are trademarks of Cloud Imperium Rights LLC.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. You remain bound by the Roberts Space Industries Terms of Service for everything you do in the game; nothing here changes or overrides them.
3. Your account
You sign in with a third-party account (Google, Discord, or GitHub). We never ask for, and you must never enter, your RSI / Star Citizen login. Keep your sign-in account and agent tokens safe; you are responsible for what happens with them. The site operator may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
4. Your logs and data
Upload only your own log files, or logs you have the owner's permission to upload. Logs are filtered on your computer before upload; only the lines the site understands are stored. Your data is visible only to you, unless you choose to share it for community statistics (section 5). You can export or delete all of your data at any time in Settings.
5. Statistics and "help improve"
The site keeps anonymous totals such as the number of users, files uploaded and processed, live updates received and active clients. They contain no personal data and nothing about what any individual did in the game; they are shown to admins and, rounded, on the home page. Separately and only if you turn it on, "help improve" keeps copies of the finished log files (logbackups, never live data) you upload — only the filtered gameplay lines the site received — so they can be reviewed and used to train and improve the log processing. It is off by default. Turning it off deletes the stored copies; anything that was already used to improve the system cannot be taken back. Your logs are never shared with anyone outside this project and never used for any commercial purpose.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attack, overload or scrape the site, try to access other people's data, upload malicious files or use the site for anything illegal. Do not use the site to harass other players. Automated access is only allowed through the official Windows agent and the documented API.
7. Accuracy
Everything shown is derived from what the game writes to its logs, which is incomplete and changes with every patch. Balances, profits and counts are estimates and can be wrong or missing. Do not rely on them for anything important.
8. No responsibility for your game account
The site and the Windows agent only read log files the game has already written; they do not modify the game, inject anything into it or interact with the game process. Even so, you use them entirely at your own risk. The site operator is not responsible for anything that happens to your game account, ships, items, aUEC or other in-game property, including suspensions or bans, nor for any data loss, downtime or damage resulting from using the site or the agent.
9. No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge and without warranties of any kind. It may change, break or shut down at any time without notice. To the extent permitted by law, the operator's liability is excluded.
10. Third-party content
Star Citizen's names, designs and artwork belong to Cloud Imperium Rights LLC. Item, ship and blueprint pictures are obtained through the Star Citizen Wiki (starcitizen.tools) and its API and shown for informational purposes, only resized or cropped to fit. Each picture links to its source page, which names its author; unless that page says otherwise, it is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. The site is free, with no ads and no paid features. Voluntary support, where offered, goes to the site owner and unlocks nothing. Rights holders can ask for content to be removed.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated. When the changes matter, you will be asked to accept the new version on your next visit. If you stop agreeing, delete your data and stop using the site.
Privacy
What we store
From your sign-in provider: name, e-mail address and profile picture. From your logs: game events (shops, contracts, rewards, blueprints, travel, deaths, sessions), your in-game handle and player id, game version, shard and a short hardware summary (CPU, GPU, RAM). For connected clients: the device name, client version and last contact time. Your data and the processing log of your uploads are kept while you use the site. If you neither visit the site nor use the client for 3 months, your log data, processing log and stored copies are deleted automatically; your account stays. Only if you enable "help improve": copies of your finished log files (filtered lines) until you turn it off. Each account has a storage limit; when it is nearly full, the stored raw log lines of the oldest sessions are removed first (statistics stay), and whole old sessions only when the processed data alone fills it. If you send a bug report: its text, attachments, the page it was sent from and your browser version, until an admin deletes it or your account is deleted.
What we never store
Your RSI password, your Windows user name, computer name, file paths, IP addresses from the log, audio devices or any other log lines the site does not need. These are removed on your computer before anything is uploaded.
Cookies and tracking
Functional cookies keep you signed in and remember your preferences (language, theme, time zone, filters). There is no advertising. The site uses the services below:
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks on the sign-in page and the bug report form that you are not a bot.
Who can see your data
Only you. Site administrators can see account details (name, e-mail, number of files) to run the site, anonymous site-wide totals and — only if you enabled "help improve" — the contributed log files, which are stored under an anonymous folder name. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties. To fetch item pictures the server sends item class names (never user data) to the Star Citizen Wiki API.
Your rights
You can download all of your data as JSON and delete it at any time in Settings; an administrator can delete your account on request. The data is stored on the server of whoever operates this site; ask them about the hosting location and contact details.
